Corrections

Accuracy is the product. When we fall short, we fix it in the open.

Reporting an error

Spotted something wrong? Tell us via the contact page with a link to the article and, if you can, a source. We aim to respond within two working days.

How we correct

  • Correction — a factual error changed the meaning: we fix the text and append a dated correction note to the article.
  • Clarification — the facts were right but the wording misled: we adjust it and append a dated clarification note.
  • Retraction — the story should not have run: it is withdrawn, with a dated explanation left at its address.

We do not silently edit published articles. Typos and formatting fixes that do not change meaning are the only exception.
